Manual Medicine
Functional disorders of the spine and joints can cause massive pain (“lumbago”) or other disorders such as headaches, vertigo or sudden hearing loss.
Manual medicine (derived from the Latin word “manus” for hand) is pure functional diagnostics and therapy. The basis is the diagnosis and treatment made with the fingers by a trained doctor. Manual medicine is used for segmental functional disorders, i.e. blockages of the spine, as well as for functional disorders of the arthron, i.e peripheral joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. In addition, tensions of muscles and connective tissue are diagnosed. Diagnostics and therapy are based on biomechanical and neurophysiological principles. In this context, the chain-linking of functional disorders within the locomotor system is also given appropriate consideration.
