Shock Wave Therapy (ESWL)

Shock waves are high-energy pressure waves that are similar to sound waves, but differ considerably in energy, rate of increase and velocity of propagation.

In orthopaedic therapy, shock waves are used to treat tendon attachment problems such as tennis elbow, heel spur or calcific shoulder. Shock wave therapy is performed in my practice. In three sessions 2,000 shock wave impulses are applied to the affected area, which stimulates blood circulation and cell metabolism in the tissue.
